Substrate Buffer Liquid by Aptus Plant Tech is the optimal pH adjuster and stabilizer for all types of substrates, especially coconut coir. It prepares the substrate before cultivation by saturating its cation exchange sites with calcium and magnesium, thereby preventing unwanted pH fluctuations in the root zone and ensuring a stable growing base from the very first watering.

Prepares and buffers coconut coir

Untreated coconut coir tends to capture calcium and magnesium from the nutrient solution, causing deficiencies in the plant and pH imbalances. Substrate Buffer Liquid fills these exchange sites with Ca and Mg, so the coco becomes “buffered” and no longer steals these elements from the feed, leaving them fully available to the roots.

Stabilizes pH in the root zone

By saturating the substrate’s exchange capacity, the product acts as a buffer that softens sharp rises and drops in pH. This results in more consistent nutrient uptake, a healthier root system, and a crop that is more resistant to stress.

Compatible with all substrates

Although its use is especially recommended in coco, Substrate Buffer Liquid can also be used in soil, mixes, and inert substrates to homogenize the starting pH and improve the efficiency of Aptus’s feeding program.
