• What exactly is Atami's Hydro Rokz Cocos?

  It's a premium substrate that combines 60% mature, washed natural coco fiber with 40% expanded clay. That mix gives it maximum aeration and perfect drainage, with very low nutrient content. It's designed for hydroculture and technical systems where you want to control nutrition yourself.

• What type of grow is it suited for?

  It's designed for hydroculture and hydroponic systems that need a medium with low nutrient content. By absorbing water and oxygen optimally, roots spread freely and make better use of nutrients. It also works very well as a drainage layer at the bottom of pots.

• How is it applied?

  You can apply it directly in the hydroponic container or place it as a drainage layer at the base of pots. If you're growing in hydro, fill the container and add an air pump to continuously oxygenate the roots. It's compatible with hydroponic growing systems using an air pump.

• What pH should I maintain with this substrate?

  The medium has a stable pH between 5.5 and 6.5, and that's the range you should maintain in your watering. Within that range, nutrient availability is optimal and the plant absorbs them without blockages. Check it regularly to stay within range.

• What fertilizers do I combine it with?

  The manufacturer itself recommends using it together with Atami's B'cuzz Coco A+B nutrient bases for the best results. Since it's a medium with very few elements, you provide the nutrition entirely yourself at each watering. That way you control exactly what the plant gets at every stage.

• Can it be used pure or does it need mixing?

  It works all three ways: as a pure substrate, mixed with other substrates, or as a drainage base. That versatility makes it very practical if you combine several media in the same grow. Choose the setup that best fits your watering system.
