• What is the composition of Biobizz Light Mix?

  It's made up of 55% peat moss, 30% perlite and 15% worm castings, with an EC of 1.2 and a pH of 6.2. The worm castings give the plants more vigorous growth. It's a 100% organic, natural substrate.

• What sizes is it available in, and how many pots does each one cover?

  It's offered in two formats: 20 liters, which fills about 3 pots of 7 liters, and 50 liters, which covers about 7 pots of 7 liters. Choose the bag according to the size of your grow. This way you avoid running short halfway through transplanting.

• Do I need to fertilize from the start?

  Yes, it comes light on nutrients, so you'll need to supply them throughout all stages of the grow. The advantage is that, since it carries a low initial nutrient load, the risk of overfertilizing the plant is greatly reduced. You gain control over what it receives at each stage.

• Is it a good choice for hot, dry climates?

  It's perfect for hot, dry climates thanks to its high water retention. Its water-to-oxygen ratio means you won't need to water as often. That said, in the first days be careful not to waterlog the soil so you don't drown the roots.

• Is it good for seed starting and cuttings?

  It's one of the best soils for seeds and works great for seed starting and young plants, where it delivers vigorous growth. However, it's not usually recommended for planting cuttings, precisely because it's lightly fertilized. For cuttings you'll want a medium with a higher nutrient load.
