Description
Very useful and almost indestructible. Thus we can describe this important piece, which has different functions that are useful to optimize the cultivation process. The union in T is usually metal and is used when two tubes need to be joined to a ventilation duct. Know more details about this accessory and those that you can find available in our store below.
Full description
When to use a T union for your pipes?
There are different reasons that lead us to use a T joint between tubes. The first is when it is necessary minimize air noise when leaving while using a powerful extractor. By dividing the path taken by the air, its speed and, therefore, the noise are reduced. On the other hand, it can also be used when we need to achieve a better air distribution for cultivation, since by dividing the air circulating in the tube into 2, a more uniform distribution is achieved than without using the T.
How does a T-piece for joining ventilation pipes work?
As its name indicates, the T piece is shaped like a T, that is, it is a 3-inlet piece. For this to work you must attach a tube to each of the inlets. You only need to locate in which section of the installation you will place it and install it by screwing it with the corresponding section. You must make sure that it is properly installed to prevent air from escaping.
In what mouth sizes can you buy a T-piece for vent connections?
Because the T union is used to mate with other tubes in the ventilation system, you can find different mouth sizes to fit the size of each tube. These are the existing sizes:
- 100mm.
- 125mm.
- 150mm.
- 200mm.
- 250mm.
- 315mm.

Frequently asked questions
-
There are two main reasons. The first is to reduce the noise the air makes as it exits when you're working with a powerful extractor fan, because splitting the route lowers the air speed and, with it, the noise. The second is to achieve a more even air distribution in the grow room.
-
Yes, and the reason is simple: by splitting the air between two outlets, that air moves more slowly through each section. Less speed means less noise at the outlet, which is welcome when the extractor fan is powerful.
-
As its name suggests, it's T-shaped and has three openings. For it to do its job, you need to fit a duct to each one and leave the whole assembly properly fitted together.
-
You just need to decide which section of the installation to place it in, then fit it by screwing on the corresponding section. Make sure it's properly assembled, otherwise air can leak out through the joint.
-
You can choose between 100, 125, 150, 200, 250 and 315 mm. Since the T-piece connects to other ducts in the ventilation system, what matters is that the size matches your ducting.
-
Yes. By splitting the air flowing through the duct in two, you get a more even distribution than with a single outlet. It's a simple way to spread the air better across the whole room.
