• What does the Bluelab Combo Meter measure?

  It measures pH, conductivity in EC, and temperature, the latter in Celsius or Fahrenheit. It has three selector buttons to choose which parameter you want to view at any given time. Its big advantage is monitoring all three key values with a single device.

• How is it used?

  It's very simple: just connect the probe to the meter via the connector on the top, and you're ready to measure. The probe has a 2-meter cable, enough to comfortably reach any point of the tank. The backlit LCD screen reads well even in low light.

• How should I take care of the probes?

  The probes should never be allowed to dry out completely. Keep the caps always moist, preferably with maintenance fluid, and you'll significantly extend the meter's lifespan. This is the most important care for this type of device.

• Can I use it to measure reverse osmosis or distilled water?

  It's not advisable. You shouldn't use it to measure distilled, deionized, or reverse osmosis water, as it can damage the probe cap. Save the meter for your nutrient solution and regular irrigation water.

• Does it need calibrating?

  Only the pH: the meter has a calibration indicator for that parameter and a replaceable pH cap. It doesn't require any calibration to measure conductivity and temperature, which considerably simplifies maintenance.

• What powers it, and does it come with batteries?

  It runs on 2 alkaline batteries that are included, so you can use it as soon as you receive it. The screen also shows a low battery indicator and it has auto shut-off, so it doesn't drain without you noticing.
