• What does the Chronos Cellpro rain sensor add?

  The sensor is built in and detects rainfall so it can interrupt watering when it isn't needed. That way you avoid waterlogging the crop and save water without having to go out and disconnect anything.

• What watering intervals can I program?

  It lets you save 3 independent watering programmes and set the intervals from 1 to 23 hours or from 1 to 15 days. That range covers everything from intensive summer watering to spaced-out winter maintenance.

• How is it powered and what happens if the battery runs low?

  It runs on a 1.5 V AA battery, with no cables or transformers. The timer warns you when the battery is low, so you can change it before the watering is affected.

• What is the child lock and what is it for?

  It is a function that stops the programming being changed by accident. Very handy if the timer is left in plain sight on a terrace or in a garden with children, because nobody can mess up your watering settings.

• Which taps can it be fitted to and what flow does it deliver?

  It has a G½ 21 mm and G¾ 26.5 mm internal thread, and withstands a working pressure of up to 6 bar. At that pressure it delivers a flow of 23 l/min, more than enough for domestic drip or hose set-ups.

• Can the amount of water it applies be fine-tuned?

  Yes, it has continuous watering control so you can match water consumption to what your plants actually need. You can also set the time automatically or manually, whichever suits you.
