• What flow rate does the Garden Grow 480 Filter give?

  It delivers 480 litres per hour and uses 20-inch cartridges in a 2-stage carbon setup. It's designed for grows with a higher water demand than the Eco model, without giving up the simplicity of a carbon filter.

• What does it remove from irrigation water?

  It removes up to 99% of chlorine and retains herbicides, pesticides and volatile organic compounds, as well as reducing sediment larger than 5 microns. The result is chlorine-free water ready for preparing your nutrient solution.

• Does it soften hard water?

  No. This filter doesn't lower the water's EC or hardness, it only removes chlorine, chloramines and sediment. If your water is hard, what you need is a reverse osmosis unit.

• Which replacement pack does it need?

  The Garden Grow Filter Pack (ref 422103), with 20-inch cartridges and a 27,000-litre lifespan. The typical mistake is ordering the 10-inch pack because it's cheaper: it doesn't fit this unit.

• Does it consume water or need a drain?

  It doesn't waste water, doesn't need a drain and doesn't require a minimum inlet pressure either. All the water that goes in comes out filtered, unlike what happens with a reverse osmosis unit.

• When is a reverse osmosis unit the better option for me?

  When, besides removing chlorine, you also need to lower the EC or hardness. In that case, check out the Grow MiniMax 75, the Power Grow 500, the Mega Grow 1000 or the Maxquarium 0 PPM if you want to start from an EC of 0.0.
