Terra Aquatica Neoprene Disc 50 mm – Plant Support Holder for Hydroponics

50 mm neoprene disc for holding the plant stem in place in hydroponic and aeroponic systems. It is placed in the opening of the lid or basket: the disc hugs the plant stem and keeps it upright without squeezing it.

It serves two functions that are often overlooked. The first is to block the light that would enter through the opening into the root chamber, which is the main cause of algae in aeroponics. The second is to reduce evaporation and maintain humidity inside the chamber.

Neoprene is soft and flexible, so it accommodates stem growth without strangling it, something that does not happen with rigid collars. It is sold individually, which makes it possible to replace only the ones that get damaged.

1. Comprueba que el hueco de la tapa o la cesta admite un disco de 50 mm.
2. Abre la hendidura lateral del disco con los dedos, sin forzar.
3. Pasa el tallo de la planta por el centro hasta que quede apoyado.
4. Deja que el neopreno se cierre alrededor del cuello, sin apretar.
5. Encaja el disco en el hueco y comprueba que no queda luz visible.
6. Revísalo al engordar el tallo y cámbialo si se ha rasgado.
