• What does the CO2 Gro replacement solenoid do?

  It is the solenoid valve that opens and closes the CO2 flow when the controller tells it to. It is fitted next to the bubble counter of the DIY 12 L CO2 Generation System (ref. 600489). If it stops switching, the system loses the ability to dose.

• How does it work alongside a controller?

  With a CO2 controller running it, the solenoid opens when the room drops below the ppm target and closes when it reaches it. Without it, the supply becomes manual and continuous. And that, with an extractor fan running, is the fastest way to waste product.

• When is it worth replacing?

  The time to replace it is when it stops switching, that is, when it no longer opens and closes the flow on the controller's command. From then on the unit stops dosing and the supply runs out of control. Having a spare means you do not have to stop the grow.

• Can I use it in a different unit?

  It is sold as the original spare part for system 600489 and that is the use we guarantee it for. The manufacturer does not publish the coil voltage, the flow rate or the connection thread, and we are not going to make those figures up. If you need to integrate it into another setup, ask us first.

• What should I do before replacing the part?

  Shut off the CO2 supply and disconnect the unit from the power before touching anything. Bear in mind that an enriched room runs well above normal air (~420 ppm) and that above roughly 5,000 ppm there is a real health risk. Never go into a room with dosing active without ventilating first.

• What other spare parts are available?

  Besides the solenoid there is the replacement regulator (ref. 600488) and the refill kit with packs A and B (ref. 901510), which is not included with the system. The complete unit is reference 600489. Those parts cover the maintenance of the system.
