Frequently asked questions
-
It depends on what you want to measure. The P160 Pro2 is the most complete set (pH, EC, TDS and temperature), the P110 Pro2 combines pH, EC and temperature with no extras, the P50 Pro2 measures only pH and temperature but with greater precision, and the E50 and E60 Pro2 are conductivity meters. If you work in ppm and want the full TDS range, the E60 Pro2 is your option.
-
It's supplied as a factory set with a single reference number and includes the meter, the case, and the pH 4.01, pH 7.00 and EC 1413 calibration solutions. If you're starting from scratch, it works out cheaper than buying everything separately; if you already have calibration solutions at home, another model might suit you better, since we also sell those solutions individually.
-
We'd rather tell you before you buy: although several listings advertise a replaceable electrode, our distributor doesn't sell any replacement electrode for the Pro2 range. The standalone electrodes in our catalogue belong to the previous range and don't fit these models. In practice, once the electrode wears out you'd need to replace the whole device.
-
The P50 Pro2, with a precision of ±0.01 compared to ±0.1 on the combo models. It only measures pH and temperature, so you give up EC, but if your priority is nailing the pH, this is the best of the pocket range.
-
Yes, the E50 Pro2 and E60 Pro2 have an IP67-rated casing and float. They're specifically designed to be used over the tank without worrying about a slip. Both measure EC and temperature, and the E60 also adds TDS and PPM.
-
These models should be stored with the electrode dry and its cap on. Rinse with distilled water after each use and perform a 2-point calibration every 2 to 4 weeks, depending on how often you measure. They run on 2 AAA batteries, which are easy to replace.
