  It's a mechanical timer that opens and closes the water valve for you, so watering happens automatically according to what you've programmed. You tell it how long you want each watering to last and how often it repeats, and you can stop worrying about keeping an eye on your plants.

• How do I set the watering duration and frequency?

  Everything is done by turning its dials: one sets how long the watering lasts and the other the interval between one watering and the next. Being analogue, there are no menus or screens, so you have it set up in seconds.

• How many combinations and how many daily waterings does it allow?

  Although it's analogue, it allows up to 15 different watering combinations, with a maximum of 8 waterings a day. It's best to spread those waterings out over the day so you don't use up the daily maximum too soon.

• Does it need a plug or does it run on batteries?

  It runs on batteries, so it doesn't depend on mains electricity. Batteries are not included: use good-quality ones, because if they run out early you could miss a watering or end up with a flood in your grow room.

• Where is this timer installed?

  It's fitted onto a pipe connected to the water supply that has sufficient pressure. From there, the unit takes care of opening and closing the valve at the times you've programmed, without you having to do anything else.

• Is it suitable for outdoor or guerrilla growing?

  Yes. Since it runs on batteries and doesn't need a power outlet, it's a very practical option for outdoor or guerrilla growing, as long as you have a pressurised water supply. It also fits perfectly for indoor use.
