Full description

Frequently asked questions
-
It is a 1/2 inch (Ø 12.7 mm) PVC valve with a built-in non-return device. It works as an injection point: it is the part through which the dosing pump introduces the pH corrector or the concentrated fertiliser into the circuit pipework. A small part, but a key one for clean, accurate dosing.
-
The non-return device stops water from the circuit travelling back up the dosing tube towards the pump and the product container. When the pump stops, line pressure tends to push water backwards, and this valve blocks it. That is why in this kind of installation it is not an optional extra but a basic protection.
-
Two things, and both are bad. First, the drum of acid or concentrated fertiliser gets progressively diluted by the returning water without you noticing, so the dosing stops being accurate. Second, the peristaltic tube and the pump head suffer from working against that back pressure.
-
Yes, in that case there is an added reason to fit it. Water flowing back into the product container can cause a reaction if that container holds another concentrate. It is a part costing a few euros that protects the rest of the installation.
-
No, it is an obvious mix-up of grams with kilos in the supplier's data sheet. The real weight of this valve is around 0.2 kg, and that is the figure we have entered as the estimated weight. You can buy it with confidence: it is a lightweight PVC part.
-
The supplier does not publish a photograph of this reference, which is why the listing has no image. Even so, it is the 1/2 inch PVC injection valve with a non-return device described in the listing.
