• What does the Bluelab pH Pen's display show?

  Its LCD screen shows the pH level and the solution temperature at the same time. With its three buttons you can turn it on, set up calibration, and switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit. Within a few seconds you have both readings you need to adjust your watering.

• Can the probe be submerged?

  Yes, the meter can be submerged in water and gives fast, reliable results. When measuring, make sure the probe is fully submerged so the reading is accurate. After a few seconds you'll see the stabilized value on the display.

• How do you calibrate it?

  Submerge the probe in a pH 7.01 sachet and, once the value appears, hold down the CAL button until that same word shows on the display. Then repeat the process with the 4.01 sachet. This two-point calibration restores the device's accuracy.

• What maintenance does it need?

  The probe must be kept clean and stored submerged in storage solution, because it gets damaged if it dries out. After each measurement, clean it with a meter cleaning solution and store it properly. If you don't, salts and minerals from the water build up and stop it working correctly.

• What battery does it run on?

  It runs exclusively on one AAA battery, which is included with your purchase. You can start measuring as soon as you take it out of the box and calibrate it. When it runs out, simply replace it with another of the same type.

• What pH should I aim for depending on my growing system?

  In soil grows, a nutrient solution between 5.8 and 6.5 is recommended, while in hydro and coco the range drops to 5.5-6.3. With the meter reading you can make the necessary adjustments before watering. This way you make sure the plant absorbs the nutrients well.
