• Does the CO2 Gro DIY 12 L System include the chemical charges?

  No, the chemical charges are NOT included: they're reference 901510 (packs A and B) and are bought separately. Without them the system doesn't generate CO2. We're pointing this out because it's the most common purchasing mistake with this product.

• What's in the box?

  It includes the 12 L generator bottle, the power adapter, the bubble counter with solenoid, filter and funnel, and an adjustable reducing valve. It can be connected to a CO2 controller. The only thing it doesn't include is the chemical charges.

• Why is the solenoid important?

  The bubble counter with solenoid is what makes this system truly dosable. Controlled by a controller with an NDIR sensor, it opens when the room drops below the target ppm level and closes once that level is reached. Without that control, dosing ends up being done by eye, and with an extractor fan running, that means wasting product.

• What spare parts are available for this system?

  There's the refill kit with packs A and B (ref. 901510), which is essential, the spare solenoid (ref. 600490) and the spare regulator (ref. 600488). With these three references you cover the equipment's regular maintenance, so you don't have to replace the whole system when one part fails.

• What precautions should I take when using it?

  Normal air sits around 420 ppm, an enriched room works at 1,200-1,500 ppm, and above roughly 5,000 ppm there's a real health risk. Never go in while dosing is active: cut the supply, run the extraction for a few minutes and go in afterwards, and install a CO2 detector if the room is enclosed. Since it's a chemical system, handle the charges with gloves and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

• What room size is it designed for?

  Its sweet spot is rooms of 10 to 30 m³, especially when paired with a controller. Below 2 m³ it's not worth it and a passive consumable is enough; between 2 and 10 m³ a large consumable or a disposable bottle fits better. Above 30 m³, propane combustion is the only method with a genuinely low cost per kilo of CO2.
