Bloom Tierra A+B Hard Water Dutch Pro: Base Flowering Nutrients for Calcareous Soils
Bloom Earth A+B Hard Water is the Dutch Pro's specialized bloom formulation designed specifically for hard water soil crops (PPM > 150). This two component formula Provides all the nutrients necessary for maximum floral production in traditional soil systems. Based on 40 years of Dutch professional nutrient researchBloom Tierra A+B Agua Dura is the optimal nutritional supplement for plants grown in soil during the flowering phase.
Critical Transition: From Vegetation to Flowering in Soil
The transition of Grow Tierra A+B (vegetation) to Bloom Tierra A+B (flowering) It is perhaps the most critical moment in cultivation. A week of error in dosage can cost 20-30% of performance. Bloom Tierra is formulated to:
- Maximum floral synthesis: Increased phosphorus for ATP energy, flower precursors
- Accelerated translocation: Elevated potassium to move photosynthates from leaves to flowers
- Adaptation to hard water: Calcium and magnesium adapted to compensate for minerals in water
- Chelated micronutrients: Iron, zinc, manganese in available form even in more alkaline soil pH
NPK Comparison: Grow vs Bloom in Soil
| Parameter | Grow Earth | Bloom Earth |
|---|---|---|
| Total NPK Ratio | 3-2-5 | 4-1-6 |
| Nitrogen (N) | Higher proportionally | Moderate, minor proportional |
| Phosphorus (P) | Low base | Increased |
| Potassium (K) | Elevated for growth | Maximum for flowering |
Hard Water Formulation: Specific Advantage
Hard water presents a specific nutritional challenge in flowering:
- Calcium and magnesium already present in water: Bloom Tierra formula to avoid cumulative excess
- Elevated sodium and baking soda: May interfere with K absorption, Bloom Earth increases K slightly to compensate for competition
- Water alkalinity: Hard water typically has pH 7.5-8.0, Bloom Tierra contains buffer to lower pH effective in root zone
- Micronutrients in hard water: Excess calcium and magnesium can chelate micronutrients (Fe, Zn), Bloom Tierra formulates specialized chelation
Dosage in Flowering
Standard Dose
- Dosage: 2-5 mL/L (A + B in equal proportions)
- Typical range for flowering: 3-4mL/L
- EC target: 1.8-2.3 (higher than vegetation due to floral demand)
- Frequency: Every normal watering (soil maintains nutrients longer than inert substrate)
Adjustment according to Flowering Week
- Weeks 1-2 (Transition): 2.5-3.0 mL/L - Moderate onset
- Weeks 3-4 (Early flowering): 3.0-3.5 mL/L - Gradual increase
- Weeks 5-6 (Peak Flowering): 3.5-4.5 mL/L - Maximum dose
- Weeks 7-8 (Maturation): 3.0-3.5 mL/L - Slight reduction
- Week 9+ (Pre-harvest): 0 (discontinue) - Clear water, allow translocation
Correct Mixing and Application of A+B
Exact Preparation Protocol
- Fill watering can or tank with hard water (pH 7.5-8.0 typical)
- Measure dose of Component A (e.g. 3 mL in 1 liter)
- Add A to water and mix completely for 2-3 minutes
- Measure dose of Component B (same volume as A)
- Add B to the mixed water + A and mix another 2-3 minutes
- Check pH (should be 6.0-6.5 for soil)
- Check EC (must be 1.8-2.3)
- Apply to normal irrigation until visible drainage
Critical Importance of A-B Order
NEVER mix A+B concentrates together. If they are mixed in high concentration before diluting, an instant chemical reaction occurs, precipitation of phosphates, carbonates, and loss of bioavailability of 50%+.
Advantages of Tierra with Bloom Tierra A+B
Crops in soil with Bloom Tierra A+B develop flowers with:
- Natural bioactivity: Natural microorganisms amplify nutrients, increased availability vs inert systems
- pH stability: Soil contains minerals that naturally stabilize pH
- Nutrient retention: Cation exchange in soil retains nutrients, slow and sustained release
- Superior Flavor/Aroma: Living organic soil produces flowers with exceptional aromatic complexity
Transition from Grow to Bloom: Exact Timing
When exactly to switch from Grow to Bloom? At the beginning of flowering: within 2-3 days after photoperiod change to 12/12 or when primary flowers appear. Not before (imbalance), not after (relative P deficiency).

Frequently asked questions
-
It's Dutch Pro's two-part base flowering fertilizer, specifically designed for soil grows with hard water (PPM above 150). Based on 40 years of Dutch research, it provides all the nutrients needed for maximum floral production in soil.
-
Bloom Soil shifts from an NPK ratio of 3-2-5 to 4-1-6: phosphorus is increased for floral synthesis, and potassium is maxed out to speed up the translocation of photosynthates from the leaves to the flowers. This transition from growth to flowering is critical, since a dosing mistake in that week can cost 20-30% of the yield.
-
Hard water already contains calcium and magnesium, so this formula prevents their cumulative excess and slightly increases potassium to offset competition with sodium and bicarbonate. It also includes a buffer to lower the effective pH in the root zone and micronutrients with specialized chelation.
-
The general dose is 2 to 5 ml/L of A and B in equal proportions, with a typical range of 3-4 ml/L and a target EC of 1.8-2.3. Start with 2.5-3.0 ml/L in weeks 1-2, raise it to 3.5-4.5 ml/L at peak flowering (weeks 5-6), and reduce it to 3.0-3.5 ml/L during ripening.
-
From week 9 onward, in the pre-harvest stage, it's discontinued completely and only plain water is given to allow final translocation. During the rest of flowering it can be applied at every normal watering, since soil retains nutrients longer than an inert substrate.
