• What does the Milwaukee EC59 measure?

  It's a pocket multifunction meter that measures electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids and temperature. Its two-line LCD display shows EC values up to 3999 µS/cm or TDS up to 2000 ppm, and it works over a temperature range of 0.0 to 60.0 °C. With a single device you cover the three basic parameters of your irrigation water.

• How do you take a measurement?

  Remove the probe's protective cap, switch the meter on with the ON/OFF/CAL button and immerse it in the liquid, preferably in a cup to stabilise the sample. Let it automatically compensate for temperature, and if you want to freeze the reading, press and hold SET/HOLD.

• How do I switch between EC mode and TDS mode?

  Just press the SET/HOLD button briefly to switch between the two modes. That way you can check the reading in whichever unit you prefer at any given moment.

• How is the EC59 calibrated?

  Hold down ON/OFF/CAL until the OFF message is replaced by CAL, then release the button to enter calibration mode. Immerse the meter in a 1413 µS buffer solution: when it shows OK, it will be calibrated in µS and automatically also in TDS (ppm).

• Can the probe be replaced?

  Yes, the EC59 comes fitted with a replaceable probe, which extends the meter's service life without having to replace the whole unit. It also features a battery indicator, stability indicator, automatic shut-off and automatic calibration.

• What fields can it be used in?

  Being water-resistant, it's suitable for agriculture, hydroponics, fish farming, aquariums, pools, laboratories, water treatment, food and education. It's a very versatile option if you want a single meter for multiple uses.
