Silver replacement top lid for the Gro-Tank 100 by Nutriculture, the 100-litre NFT system with a 1200 × 1060 mm tray.

The lid performs three functions at once: it blocks light from the tray so algae cannot grow in the solution film, reflects light received by the lower leaves thanks to its silver surface, and reduces evaporation, which keeps the reservoir level and EC more stable.

With growing cycles, the lid gets scratched, warps from the heat of the lights, and eventually lets light in through the edges. When that happens, replacing it is cheaper and faster than battling an algae-infested reservoir. It is sold as a standalone replacement, without the rest of the system.
