On Balance Intrepid Scale – Compact Precision Scale for Crop Weighing

Frequently asked questions

• What models are there in the Intrepid series and how do they differ?

You can choose between the 10 kg Intrepid with 1 g resolution and the 5000 g one with 0.1 g resolution. They share the same body and features, so the choice depends on whether maximum capacity or reading precision matters more to you.

• What is the weighing bowl it includes used for?

It's a large 2.2-liter bowl designed to handle large volumes without spilling material. Its frosted translucent finish resists scratches, and with the tare function you can subtract its weight and see only the weight of the contents.

• How is the Intrepid scale powered?

It runs on 2 AA batteries, which are included, or with a USB adapter if you prefer to keep it always plugged in. A battery level indicator warns you of consumption so it doesn't catch you by surprise.

• How do I make sure it's properly leveled?

It has a built-in bubble level: place the scale on a stable surface and adjust until the bubble is centered. Proper leveling is key for an accurate reading, and calibration is done with a single button.

• Does it turn off by itself if I forget about it?

Yes, it turns off automatically after 300 seconds of inactivity to save battery. It also has overload protection, which extends the unit's lifespan if you put more weight on it than you should.

• Is it easy to keep clean and how much warranty does it have?

Its 14.5 x 14.5 cm platform has a stain-resistant design, so keeping it clean takes just seconds. It's also backed by a 10-year limited warranty, a sign of the manufacturer's confidence in these materials.
