• Why is Limocide said to have triple action?

  Because it acts as an insecticide, acaricide and fungicide at the same time with a single application. Its base is sweet orange essential oil in a microemulsion, which acts by physical contact: it suffocates insects and mites and disrupts the cell wall of fungi. This way you cover three fronts with a single product.

• What pests and diseases does it control?

  It's indicated for aphids, mealybugs and armoured scale insects, whitefly, red spider mite and other mites, thrips and defoliating caterpillars. It also acts on downy mildew and powdery mildew. It's a shock solution designed for infestations that are already active.

• What dose is used, and how much spray solution does the 100 ml bottle make?

  The recommended dose is 4 to 10 ml per litre of water, with 10 ml/L being the standard dose. With the 100 ml bottle you can prepare up to 10 litres of treatment solution. It's sprayed onto the leaves, wetting both the upper and lower surfaces thoroughly until run-off, repeating every 7-14 days depending on pest pressure.

• How long does it take to work?

  The manufacturer states visible effects within a maximum of 3 hours after application. On aphid colonies, the shock effect is immediate. That's why it works very well when you need to stop an infestation that's already under way.

• Is it suitable for organic farming, and does it leave residues?

  Yes, it's authorised for organic farming under current European regulations. It's biodegradable and doesn't leave persistent residues on fruit and vegetables. It's also gentle on beneficial fauna if you apply it outside pollination hours.

• What time of day should it be applied and what precautions should be taken?

  Apply it early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid phytotoxicity from sun exposure. On sensitive species, it's a good idea to do a prior test on a small area. Orange oil can cause an allergic reaction in sensitive people, so wear gloves and a mask during preparation.
