Description
Full description
Treegers quantum PAR meter with remote sensor. It measures PPFD—the micromoles of photons that actually reach the plant—in the PAR range from 400 to 700 nm.
Why measure PPFD and not lux
A lux meter measures what the human eye sees, not what the plant uses. PPFD is the metric that truly determines performance: it lets you know whether the fixture is at the correct height, whether the distribution is uniform, and whether the edges of the crop receive enough light.
The remote sensor matters
The sensor is separate from the display by cable, so it can be placed at canopy height while being read comfortably. Without a remote sensor, the meter body and your hand cast a shadow over the measurement itself.

How to use

Frequently asked questions
-
It measures PPFD, that is, the micromoles of photons that actually reach the plant, within the PAR range of 400 to 700 nm. The reading is expressed in micromoles per square meter per second, the value that truly determines the grow's yield.
-
A lux meter measures what the human eye sees, not what the plant uses. PPFD is what lets you know if the light fixture is at the correct height, whether the light spread is even, and whether the edges of the grow receive enough light.
-
The sensor is connected to the display by a cable, so you can place it at canopy height while comfortably reading the value. Without a remote sensor, the meter's body and your own hand cast a shadow over the measurement and skew the reading.
-
It lets you check whether the light fixture is at the right height, whether the light spreads evenly over the table or tent, and whether the corners receive enough intensity. With that data you can adjust the setup to get the maximum yield from your plants.
-
Yes, there's an optional Treegers extension wand available, which lets you take the sensor to distant points without casting a shadow. Keep in mind that the meter's published weight is an estimate.
