Full description

How to use

Frequently asked questions
-
Mycotrex is Biotabs' endomycorrhizal inoculant. Its base is the fungus Rhizoglomus irregulare, reinforced with rhizosphere bacteria, seaweed meal and humic acids. Those companions aren't there by chance: they act as a starter food so colonisation establishes itself sooner.
-
Endomycorrhizae colonise the inside of the root and spread a network of filaments through the substrate. In practice, the plant multiplies its absorption surface several times over without spending energy on growing more root. The benefit is especially noticeable with phosphorus, which is poorly mobile and hard to reach, and with water during dry spells.
-
Always at transplant. It's sprinkled into the planting hole or mixed with the substrate just before transplanting, because mycorrhizae need direct contact with the root. Applying it mid-cycle, once the root is already formed and undisturbed, doesn't make sense.
-
It's the most studied and most versatile endomycorrhiza: it colonises the vast majority of crop plants. That's why it's the reference species when you're looking for an inoculant that works in almost any situation.
-
Mycotrex is the natural partner of the BioTabs tablets: the mycorrhiza is what makes available the nutrient the tablet releases slowly. Together with Bactrex, Startrex and Orgatrex, it forms the brand's complete system.
-
There are three sizes: 100 g, 500 g and 2 kg. It's a very efficient powder — the 100 g tub lasts for quite a few transplants. For the exact dose, check the packaging, since the supplier doesn't publish the number of spores per gram either.
