• How does the Cleanlight UV-C lamp act against fungi?

  Type C ultraviolet light damages the DNA of spores, bacteria and viruses, so they are inactivated and cannot reproduce. Cleanlight applies that principle in a portable lamp that you pass over the crop. The plant receives a very short dose, enough for the pathogen but tolerable for the leaf.

• Does it leave any residue, or are there safety intervals to observe?

  No. It is a treatment with no chemicals, no residue in the flower and no safety interval. That is one of its big advantages over a conventional fungicide.

• How often should I use it?

  It works both as a preventive and as a shock treatment. For prevention you make regular passes over the crop, and if an outbreak appears you increase the frequency. Because it acts on the leaf surface, it reaches exactly where the spore germinates.

• What safety precautions do I need to take?

  UV-C radiation is harmful to the eyes and skin, so it has to be taken seriously. Wearing specific protective goggles throughout the whole treatment is mandatory, and direct exposure must be avoided. You will find the Cleanlight replacement goggles in our catalogue.

• Can fungi develop resistance to this treatment?

  No. Fungi do not develop resistance to radiation the way they do to a chemical fungicide. That is why you can keep using the treatment over time without losing effectiveness.

• What should I combine it with to cover the whole room?
