Full description

Frequently asked questions
-
Because the centrifugal turbine generates the pressure needed to overcome the resistance of the carbon filter, the elbows and metres of ducting, something an axial fan can't do. That's why the inline centrifugal fan is the standard in indoor growing. This Clivex model keeps that philosophy with a metal casing and direct mounting onto the ducting.
-
The supplier doesn't publish either the duct diameter or the airflow of this extractor, and without those two figures we can't confidently recommend a size. We'd rather tell you that upfront than risk you receiving a size that doesn't fit. Get in touch with us before buying and we'll confirm it directly with the manufacturer.
-
The best approach is to mount it after the carbon filter, pulling air through it, so the air comes out already deodorized. Also, with the filter in front, the noise is dampened. The centrifugal turbine has enough pressure to work with the filter installed.
-
Hang the unit with rubber mounts or straps so the vibration isn't transmitted to the structure of the cabinet or the room. Keep tight elbows to a minimum, since every 90-degree bend can cost you a significant part of the actual airflow. If you still need to lower the noise level, add a silencer at the outlet.
-
Yes, it's compatible with analogue AC-type speed controllers, since it runs on an alternating current motor. It's a sturdy motor built for prolonged operation, so you can leave it running continuously and adjust the speed to what the crop requires.
-
Yes, it's a good idea to combine extraction with a fresh air intake, whether passive or with an intake fan, so you don't create excessive negative pressure in the space. The idea is to renew the room's air several times a minute to control temperature and humidity.
